Day 1: Flight to Yerevan, Arrival
Arrival at Zvartnots Airport. After customs and passport control, you will be greeted by our German-speaking guide. He will accompany you on the transfer to your hotel in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

Day 2: City tour
After a rest at the hotel, we embark on a diverse walking tour through the 2800-year-old city. The Cascade is a massive stairway complex made of light-colored travertine stone that rises 572 steps up a hillside in the city center, offering a breathtaking view. The original design for this monumental structure dates back to the 1930s, but it was finally built in the 1970s by Moscow as a monument to the 50th anniversary of Armenia’s Sovietization. Today, it houses the Museum of Contemporary Art. The impressive Opera House and Republic Square—the heart of Yerevan—are nearby. Later, we will meet a musician in his garden, who will introduce us to the full family of Armenian flutes. We will then wander through parks, where beautiful cafés invite us to relax. Evening stroll through the vibrant summer atmosphere of Yerevan. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

Day 3: Temple, Monastery, Nature
In the morning, we drive southeast to the Geghard rock monastery (UNESCO World Heritage) from the 4th century, adorned with unique carvings and masonry. Here, we will admire medieval religious hymns performed exclusively for our group by a choir. A roughly 3.5-hour hike through the impressive, wild Azat Gorge will lead us to the pagan Garni Temple (1st century, UNESCO World Heritage). The hexagonal basalt formations, reminiscent of organ pipes, are a true natural wonder and poetically referred to as the Symphony of Stones. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

Day 4: Hiking and Wine
After breakfast, we leave the capital and drive south. If the weather permits, we will pause for photos before the imposing Mount Ararat. Visit to the Khor Virap Monastery. Continuing on to the Vayots Dzor region, a renowned wine-growing area. We descend into 6000 years of wine history and then hike for about 2 hours to Noravank Monastery. The reddish shimmering rocks of the Amaghu Gorge create a unique backdrop for this picturesque 13th-century monastery. We will visit the Areni Cave 1 archaeological site, where you will also enjoy a unique wine tasting. Overnight stay in Areni.

Day 5: Ranger Tour and Full-Day Hike in the Wild
Early morning pick-up by rangers from the Arpa National Park, followed by a short drive into the mountains. We will observe bezoars, foxes, and other wildlife. Breakfast in the National Park with breathtaking views. Drive to the village of Artabuynk, then a 4-5-hour hike to Tsakhats Kar Monastery and Smbataberd Fortress. We will then head to the village of Yeghegis. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: The Blue Pearl of Armenia
Drive up to Selim Pass (2410m), where a 14th-century caravanserai reminds us of the Silk Road era when this major trade route was traveled by camels and mules. We continue along Lake Sevan, surrounded by green mountains—Armenia’s "Pearl." This freshwater reservoir, fed by 28 rivers from surrounding mountains, covers an area of 1200 km² and sits at an altitude of 1918m, making it one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world. A short refreshing swim may be possible here. Our hike today will be planned according to weather conditions (either a volcano ascent near Selim Pass or part of the Caucasian Trail in Tavush region). Overnight stay at Guesthouse Armenia in Dilijan.

Day 7: In the Armenian Switzerland
From the Shamakhyan district, we set off for Haghartsin Monastery (10th century). A long and very impressive hike across the National Park, deep into the bear’s homeland, through valleys and forests of the Lesser Caucasus, ending at Haghartsin Monastery. Overnight stay in Dilijan.

Day 8: UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Visit to the picturesque Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries (10th-13th century, UNESCO, approx. 2-hour hike). Drive toward Odzun, visit to the cathedral. Then, we travel to Metsavan, a village on the Georgian border, where we established an Adventure Tourism Center in 2021. Meeting with the local team. Dinner and overnight stay with locals.

Day 9: Metsavan
About a 4-hour hike from the village to a reservoir through beautifully blooming, colorful fields. Visit to the old churches in the village. A biking tour is also possible. Overnight stay with locals.

Day 10: Aragats—the Giant of Armenia
Drive towards Aragats, the highest mountain in Armenia. From Lake Qari (3200m), we will ascend the southern peak (3889m). After descending, we will check into the observatory hotel in Byurakan. Stargazing at the observatory around midnight.

Day 11: Last Day in the Capital
Drive to the capital. On the way, we will visit the medieval Hovhannavank Monastery by the Kasakh Gorge. Free time in Yerevan. Farewell dinner in a traditional restaurant.
